At its meeting on September 19-20, 2011, the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) Board of Directors reviewed the recommendation of the CHEA Committee on Recognition regarding the recognition application submitted by the Transnational Association of Christian Colleges and Schools (TRACS) Accreditation Commission. In accordance with the 2006 CHEA Recognition Policies and Procedures, TRACS is recognized for the following scope of accreditation:

Accreditation and preaccreditation of Christian postsecondary institutions in the United States, U. S. territories, and other locations determined by the Accrediting Commission that offer certificates, diplomas, and associate, baccalaureate, and graduate degrees.

Gainful Employment Reporting for Member Institutions

On July 1, 2011, new regulations regarding Gainful Employment Programs (GEP) went into
effect. Institutions which are accredited or candidates for accreditation by TRACS need to look
at the requirements closely. These regulations require public disclosures beginning on July 1,
2011 and reporting to the U.S. Department of Education on or before October 1, 2011.

Programs which are considered to be GEP generally fall into the following two categories:

• Educational programs offered by for-profit institutions and
• Non-degree educational programs offered by non-profit (and public) institutions.

Any TRACS institution which participates in Title IV programs and which offers a non-degree
educational program (certificate or diploma) at any degree level must comply with the applicable
federal regulations.
